As the largest multicultural society at the University of Sydney, we provide numerous opportunities for our members to learn, experiment and grow together throughout their degree. We have proven records of collaborating with international law firms, NGOs and a vast range of alumni. Joining our committees is your first step to contributing to the law student community and networking with successful legal practitioners.

Applying for Committees
Any currently enrolled USYD student (including non-law students) may apply for as many committees as they like. Successful applicants are expected to commit, on average, 2–3 hours per week to each role.
Applications open in March each year and are announced on our social media platforms. Apply by email to the relevant committee, including any information requested (e.g. resume and cover letter) in the recruitment announcement. Interviews are usually given on a rolling basis from the date of announcement, with results given within 5 business days after your interview.
While each committee has its own criteria, the following qualities are generally sought after:
- a genuine passion for the work of the committee;
- a willingness to commit for at least a semester; and
- relevant skills and experience.
Not every member has prior experience or knowledge of CLSS — don't let that deter you from applying. Committees are a great way to get involved with CLSS for the first time, and passion is the quality that matters most.
